The Crifasi Wedding at The Wickliffe House in Charleston

Trevor and Melissa had a perfect day capturing the celebration of Sara and Mike at The Wickliffe House in Charleston, SC. Being based out of Columbia, about a third of our weddings are in the Charleston area, and this was our first at this phenomenal venue. The couple was having a destination wedding, as their family comes to Charleston every year. I was surprised at the large turnout, their family and friends truly love them and showed so much support. Last year, while Sara and Mike were on vacation, my girlfriend and I drove down to do their engagement portraits on the beach and at the Pitt St Bridge. We got such great portraits, they're all over my portfolio! :) It was an abnormally windy day, and Mike's (well everyone's) hair was going crazy, but I think it just added to the action of the photos!

The Wickliffe House was absolutely breath-taking, making it almost impossible to take a bad picture. On top of that, Mike and Sara are so photogenic and natural it made our job SO easy! The girls got ready at the Barksdale House Inn, which served as a gorgeous bridal suite. We took some nice bridal portraits outside in the streets. After an intimate first look, the ceremony was held outside on a perfect day with wonderful weather. We took the formals and then a great portrait session of the newlyweds.

The food was fantastic, as were the toasts. The toast of the night came from Sara's great Uncle and lasted about 15 minutes, and was an incredibly funny love story of the history of Sara's family. It was the best speech I've ever heard at a wedding, and I'll never forget it. David Fox from Bunn DJ Company kept the party going all night. I had noticed that Mike hadn't been doing much dancing (too busy socializing) and I was beginning to take him for the kind of guy that couldn't dance. I'll never forget him jumping in the middle of the dance floor and absolutely owning it! I was so surprised how great he was breaking it down - as was the rest of the family!

We had an amazing day full of love and laughs, and I thank you so much for allowing Melissa and I the chance to be a part of it. We wish you the absolute best moving forward, and can't wait to see the rest of your love story unfold.
